Calystegia sepium (hedge bindweed, Rutland beauty, bugle vine, heavenly trumpets, bellbind, granny-pop-out-of-bed) (formerly Convolvulus sepium) is a species of bindweed, with a subcosmopolitan distribution throughout the temperate Northern and Southern hemispheres.
Can be extremely invasive, caution should be taken if planting outside of containers.
Var. compactus. Dwarf, and valuable for pot culture. A 5-petaled form is also recorded. Aureus superbus, Hort. A tender perennial, but may be treated as an annual, since it flowers the first season from seed : stem trailing or twining. Valuable as a greenhouse climber and for hanging baskets.
